In the early 1900s, an Englishman named John Hales established a waterfront development in Eltingville, Staten Island, known as the “Seaside Estates” and built many houses in the area. Artist/historian Giuseppe Settinieri will discuss the history of the “Seaside Estates” and a few of the original houses of this development, including the historic Kaasmann House on Hylan Blvd. The families connected with these homes will also be discussed.
