Continuing the traditions of Staten Island’s folklore including the real-life “Fairyland” in Great Kills, with mythical stories and treasures from this era! Storytelling followed by art projects for children to create fairy wands and nature crowns. Join us to step into a magical woodland where every twig, leaf, and flower holds enchantment. Children can transform into woodland fairies using nothing but their imagination and the natural treasures found in Olmsted Beil House Park.
Free event for boys and girls ages 4-12.
Other activities will include coloring, painting, hands-on crafts, interactive giant bubbles, and photo opportunity for children with finished fairy wings and nature crowns under the Osage orange tree planted by Frederick Law Olmsted.
When: Saturday, August 23, 2025, 10am to 12pm

The internet may show an Orchard Lane address but that is behind the park and is wrong. Do not drive into the driveway but instead park on either of the two side streets, Hales or Woods of Arden (co-named Frederick Law Olmsted Way) and walk in.
