      October 28, 2023 — Olmsted-Beil House Park was filled with fall fun as more than 100 children gathered for crafts, pumpkin-painting, prizes, an autumn scavenger hunt, goody bags, games, a hay jump, interactive giant bubbles, and a costume parade.

        August 26, 2022 – NYC Council Member Joseph Borelli and members and supporters of Friends of Olmsted-Beil House (FOBH) gathered to celebrate the co-naming of a street near Olmsted-Beil House Park as “Frederick Law Olmsted Way.”

          April 24, 2022 A celebration of the 200th anniversary of Frederick Law Olmsted’s birth, this was the first public event to be held at Olmsted-Beil House Park.

            Sept. 22, 2021 Join Turnstile Tours and the Friends of Olmsted-Beil House for a virtual panel discussion to mark the 150th anniversary of the publication of Frederick Law Olmsted’s report for the Staten Island Improvement Commission, a comprehensive plan for the island’s growth and development.

              June 10, 2021 A one-hour live virtual tour by Turnstile Tours of Olmsted-Beil House Park. Presentations were also given by Olmsted biographer, New Yorker, and FOBH supporter Justin Martin and FOBH Board members and historians Patricia Salmon and Tina Kaasmann-Dunn.

                FOBH Board Member Betsy Greene is the daughter of the prominent Staten Island landscape architect and environmental activist Bradford Greene, who spent many hours regaling the family on the accomplishments of his hero, the great Frederick Law Olmsted.
