He was one of Staten Island’s most fascinating personalities, and he developed numerous grand plans for the Island’s future. Among his proposals was the Woods of Arden Inn (now the Olmsted-Beil House). It would serve as a recreational hotspot that would bring the masses onto his Staten Island trains and ferries. What were his plans for the Olmsted-Beil House? What were his plans for Staten Island? What came to fruition and what did not? Discover and get a glimpse into Mr. Wiman’s unique personality, and his economic and recreational vision for Staten Island.
